Portfolio: The Big O festival circus show
This project was Inspired by the serious issue of increasing teenage pregnancies in the UK, but was intentionally delivered with a light hearted approach. In a collaborative effort, a huge aerial hoop was produced and a circus theatre piece created to be performed on it.
The opening of the piece was a humorous race to fertilise the egg, symbolised by the Big Hoop and reminiscent of Woody Allen’s “Everything you always wanted to know about sex, but were afraid to ask”
This was a great project with lots of fun and interesting preparation to figure out all the possibilities for movement for 3 artists on a 2 metre hoop.
This was performed at festivals across the UK over the summer.
